Add Role Options for users in teams

support 9 years ago updated 6 years ago 6

We would like there to be an option to list a player as a vice captain/secondary contact. This player would also appear on pop up box with Organiser. It would allow staff who are unfamiliar with a team, to identify next best contact options in cases where the Organiser is away or can't be reached.

Ideally we would like the following roles –

Organiser/Captain
Vice Captain
Co-Captain
Regular
Stand-in

Only having the current three role options has led to an overabundance of “Clash” warnings each week. There are a number of individuals who enter multiple playing teams into our competitions. These organisers are the primary contact and manager of each of the teams but do not play in them. As a result there are regular occurrences of “clash” warnings that distract or in some place hide legitimate warning messages.

A way to solve this would be the addition of another role that would for all purposes have the same access and powers as the current team organiser but not generate the clash warning if the same manager appears on multiple teams playing at the same time. This role could be called ‘manager’ and would still allow staff to identify a primary contact for each team but would prevent the numerous warnings in Spawtz for the fixtures in question.

Would be nice if you can in config create, amend, and delete team roles.  Edit names, select privileges (can see team list, gets availability update emails, etc...) and select effects (shows up in clashes, email when deposit paid, appears in availability list, flag as warning if not available, etc...)

For roles that get deleted warn and ask what role the users should then be given.

This would allow for a lot more flexibility for each organisation using spawtz and for each organisation to be able to change things on the fly.

Would also be could do have 'Parent' for youth teams organised by kids, but who have a particular mum/dad who overlooks proceedings. This could also fall under 'manager' I guess.

We could use this function - our teams often have an organiser to manage the players and a treasurer to manage the fees, it would be good to be able to identify these - thanks! :-)
